To my #Linux friends out there: I have two questions (for two different laptops).

Question #1: Linux Mint 21 freezes regularly on a new Dell laptop (less than a year), it was problematic from the beginning because with one kernel (6.something) the WIFI did not work and with the other kernel (5.something) I have the freezing issue. Is there another dispo which works better with Dell laptops? I would need an easy-to-use dispo because I am still new at Linux and have vision problems.

@meow_factor These things are usually bound to just kernel (it contains all drivers except for GPUs which have both kernel and out-of-kernel pieces) so the newest kernel you can get has the biggest chance to help..

There are no distros which have better support for certain laptop manufacturer.

Maybe go for something more bleeding edge, like Fedora or Manjaro, who ship very new kernels. Conservative distros (I do count Mint as one of them) don't play well with new hardware for this very reason.

@mana_z thank you, I have now upgraded to Mint 22 and I'll just wait. If that does not work out, I'll switch to Fedora
