Happy 5th Birthday, Foodnoms! 🥳

Thanks to everyone who has been a part of this journey with me. Cheers to many more!

@ryanashcraft Foodnoms has easily become one of my favorite apps.

I mapped it to a series of shortcuts that runs for logging my food. It first launches Foodnoms on the Log Food screen, then launches Omnipod for taking insulin, then launches Gluroo for logging how much insulin I took. The HealthKit integration of Foodnoms logs the carbs in Gluroo automatically and they send me weekly reports so I can stay on top of my insulin to carb ratios. It really helps me stay healthy and makes managing #Type1Diabetes a lot easier. Thanks for all your hard work!

@natejung @ryanashcraft I, for years, have been wanting to see Foodnoms gain better Shortcuts functionality -- e.g., create a text var and send it as input (a food name) to Foodnoms. I use Cronometer. And I hate it! If Foodnoms were to gain good Shortcuts support for logging foods (not for just launching the app) I'd subscribe and I'd switch.
@exactocrat @ryanashcraft quite a few options here.
@natejung @ryanashcraft For me, it's not a matter of there being many options or few. The actions that I care about are 'log food' and 'log meal' -- I would like for these actions to accept text vars denoting food name, food amount, datetime. The last time I checked, those actions aren't quite so flexible. I hope Ryan will enhance the automation functionality -- this is a feature that Cronometer will never provide.

@natejung @ryanashcraft 'Log Food failed because Shortcuts couldn't convert from Text to Food Details.'

One example of an app that gets this 'conversion' thing right is @chronicling .
