Any GMs out there doing anything clever with random tables?

I’ve got books full of them, but they’re out of sight, out of mind a lot of the time. I’m thinking of compiling them all in Obsidian and using a die roller plugin. Maybe they’ll get more use that way.

@Ashigaru I'm starting a game of Ultra Violet Grasslands. We had zero sesh and character making last week. Start game this week. I'm having fun using the tables in there to have some materials on hand, although many look fun to use in game, too. Not sure it's that clever, but the exercise is helping me to get into the spirit of the game world and come up with my own world building ideas to add in where I can.
@JunkyardTornado Haven’t played UVG, but I found the Mörk Borg random tables added a lot of flavor to the game.
@Ashigaru I have picked up Mork Borg, Cy Borg, and Pirate Borg. Haven't tried any of them yet but a borg game was another considered option with the group, they just were really into trying UVG. Yea, those books are all so cool to flip through, I can see those tables being useful.
@Ashigaru I m using random tables a lot! But there are a lot of random tables, which I never use, too. I recently noted that I use them more frequently if they are well integrated in the text. Eg, “Reach of the Roach God” and “Death in Space” integrate them very neatly as part of description.
@Ashigaru Mostly #worldbuilding - when it comes to building settings and campaigns, I take any inspiration I can get. And random tables are a useful addition that gets the brain juices flowing.
