Oh boy. I had clicked off MKBHD's latest video a minute in since I realized it was full sponsored and just hitting DJI talking points.

But doing driving reckless for a short clip in a video is always wrong. Don't drive 60 over the limit. Not ever, esp for content.

Or go to a race course, but that sounds impractical.

@geerlingguy I kept watching a bit to see if he’d compare to other cams or be critical in any way and still clicked off after a few. Didn’t see the car thing but it just felt like a hollow money grab video. Sad to see him going this way recently.

@geerlingguy 150km/h in a 60km/h hits differently in numbers. I'm now baffled that 60km/h is considered safe in an area where you're supposed to expect kids.

@geerlingguy I'm sure it's outside of school hours, but as a parent with a seven-year-old, seeing someone speeding with that crosswalk sign sure pisses me off to 11.

@webology @geerlingguy I am not familiar with the US school system, but isn’t there a chance there are after school activities or some parent child events in the evening?

It feels like no matter which time of the day this is just reckless.

@fallenhitokiri @geerlingguy It's very common. We live around a lot of playgrounds and it's rare to not see kids there outside of school.

I'm not accusing him of driving recklessly during school hours and it's quite possible the crosswalk sign is a few blocks from a school. It's a bad look and tells me he's going way too fast in a zone that would normally double your speeding ticket and be a much lower speed limit than what a normal road would post.

@geerlingguy 96 mph in a 35 is almost 3x the speed limit! At least that's where the video cuts, maybe he went even faster.. The wallpaper fiasco was bad enough, but this even surprised me.

@geerlingguy The only reason I watch MKBHD nowadays is because of his guys on Waveform, constantly praising the Fediverse. They are the reason I discovered this place.
