Over 50% of Americans cannot read at a high school level.

But we're going to try to tell them about Trump being an authoritarian or fascist.

They don't know what these words mean and they lack the intellectual framework and knowledge of history to understand the explanation.

The end.

@dangrsmind Exhibit #1: Adin Ross, the top Kick streamer who was granted a 90 minute interview with Trump, trying (and failing) to just read the definition of the word "fasscist [sic]" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNIYvOpTsh8

@tomm

This is exactly what I was talking about.

I hadn't seen this video however.

Aiden Ross is Trump's son Baron's favorite podcaster which is why Trump was on his show.

@dangrsmind You might also find this interesting, written in 2014 about Trump's oral-focused communication rather than written:

"Oral culture rewards redundancy... repetition is one useful technique, and Trump is a master of it. Consider the remarks he made during a March debate: "I'm a leader. I'm a leader. I've always been a leader. I've never had any problem leading people. If I say do it, they're going to do it. That's what leadership is all about.""

I wrote this in 2016. One of the only things I've written that holds up well. https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2016-11-29/donald-trump-the-first-president-of-our-post-literate-age?sref=vuYGislZ

@dangrsmind You're very welcome, it's so nice to have pleasant interactions with a stranger. No need for credit. ☮️
