I think Democrats at large at ground level really dont know the sincere trouble theyre in despite deploying it rhetorically and it seemingly failing to shore up anything at all
Every step towards losing the franchise of elections has been in this limbo of 'youre an overzealous idiot if you actually believe us, but dont believe us in a specific way that leads to a vote and just a vote and promoting voting' like, I have been alive enough decades and cast those ballots over those decades for democrats to know they have nothing resembling a game plan for ground levels when shit hits the fan, and you gotta bet on yourself and those around you to get through it...

I mean, part of all this is to provide a frame to the dislocation between a party's rhetoric, a party's partisan base in action, and how it doesnt have anything but hapless and helpless partisans completely unprepared for their own forecasts of doom. Like i voted for 18 years between 2002 and 2020, what happened to me as a loyal Democrat, ya know?
