Just a friendly reminder…
Small changes make bigger change.
@sunguramy When I visit the 1800s, I'm not worried about disrupting the formation of the European Union; I'm worried about accidentally undoing my own birth. The former would probably require more change than I could manage as an individual, while the latter could be as simple as stopping one person from boarding a train on time, or coughing in the wrong crowded room.

In the 2200s, I don't have anyone where I want to make sure they come into existence, but I care about big-picture stuff like how much fascism comes up in the meantime. So I'm not worried about how I constantly butterfly tiny events in that era into and out of existence. If I want to make the larger changes, then I need to put forth a lot more effort — especially working with others as part of a large group.

@sunguramy Best message I’ve heard today.

Are you from… the future? 😸

@sunguramy actually, that is not true. Small changes change little of any consequence, either now or in the future. They don't get amplified over time.
@sunguramy Great, now I have to worry about stepping off the path and treading on a butterfly triggering a cascade of events resulting in the election of fascists. I just want to hunt the most dangerous game without troubling thoughts.
@sunguramy A good reminder that every little thing we do in this life has a definite impact on the future.

@sunguramy
The future can't be changed, because for something to be changed it has to have a defined form where the change is applied to.
Changing the past can change the present but the present can't change the future.

But we can shape the future and we should do everything we can to give the future the best shape possible!
