In 2013, comedian Russell Brand was kicked out of a GQ magazine’s Men of the Year Awards shindig, after cracking jokes about the event’s sponsor, Hugo Boss, and its Nazi ties. As Brand put it: “If anyone knows a bit about history and fashion, you know it was Hugo Boss, who made uniforms for the Nazis. …But they looked fu*king fantastic, let’s face it, while they were killing people on the basis of their religion and sexuality“.

Who did Russell support again? Ah right 🤦

@jmcrookston @paninid It feels like it’s comedians’ job to call attention to these things.

@b_cavello I don't object to the joke or his pointing it out, although I'm not sure it's a comedian's job necessarily (they can do what they want, I guess).

He's a Trump MAGA though that's why the facepalm. Then again he's a comedian and not a great one so I shouldn't expect much from him anyway.

@jmcrookston Mm, gotcha. I am unfamiliar with this person, in particular.
