Plan that the dems can have for free:
1. lower gas price
2. chicken in every pot
3. 100 bucks to every voter
and when the losers of the press/repubs do the 'how will they pay for it' screeching, you have them on the defensive and can drill home the win with 'who gives a fuck, we're doing it!' with no complex bullshit and nuanced argument from economists and the slugs at the nyt, just say "WE'RE DOING IT".

Honestly, I keep banging on about how sandwiches cost 10 bucks where I live (national chains mind you, not George's Deli with their lovingly made polish deli sandwiches at 12 dollars a pop), and how this is the kind of omnipresent reminder that cuts through any flim flam about unemployment rates or stock market numbers or any other various macro cockpit instruments.
Even going back to Biden's own campaign and the 2000 dollar check thing...this is the most ideal example of Democrats being penny pinching welchers who will say 'chicken in every pot' and then not even provide half a chicken while calling you an ingrate for calling half a chicken half a chicken.

but in terms of political strategy, it does help to give people economic incentives to do the right thing. after wwii, they understood that. that they had to make the german and japanese economies go vroom so people wouldn't go back to fascism
It's something where it doesn't make people turn fascist, it's something that reduces the credibility of non fascism by being detached and dismissive. It's not so much turning towards fascism, rather than a vacuum of anyone to turn to, even the supposed opposition that is half blaming you for not being stoic and ascetic with returns on your vote.
Getting to the point about the GOP basically holding vigil for 50 years to overturn Roe and getting it, it's something where they also didn't use a Civic Dweeb's Handbook to do it, had ideological benefactors with deep pockets the entire way, and ultimately when the opportunity did present and the iron was hot, they hit it and said 'fuck you, try and stop us' and the entire Democratic Party turned back to old tack of 'guess we gotta win it all by a lot more than we've ever won anything and hope some justices die'.

The vast majority of people don't individually turn fascist. Whole societies, though, do react to economic insecurity by having people get angry and look for politics outside what's being offered. In current conditions this pushes them towards fascism because the mass left has been destroyed.
