We once again missed, overlooked, & failed to learn that a vast chunk of the population feels unseen & left behind. Harris needed to see them, show them how things HAD improved during Biden, & talk in detail about what more would be done.
This is a leadership failure common among other nations.
Fixing things for 'minorities' (everyone non-white, non-cisgender & usually non-male) absolutely can be worked on once elected.

But it may represent too much change coming too quickly for many, often skipping over today's problems.
Those progressives with more stability, wealth & privilege in their lives may have had the time to move on mentally & have the headspace to think about tomorrow's problems. Still, we're grossly underestimating for how many the basics haven't yet been addressed.

Many don't have the time to devote to new wishes & hopes right now. I (a privileged white GenX male) don't like waiting – I don't even like what I write two sentences back - but it seems pretty evident that we need to focus and step through this, or else chaos clearly does triumph.
Shouldn't we ensure everyone feels safe and secure first instead of piling up more problems to address so that we effectively don't achieve anything significant?

I'm not disregarding the progress humans have made to date. I'm just highlighting that for many, we are talking about a lot of new things all at once that may not impact them on an existential level.
Change can be scary. Fear can trigger disappointment & anger. But so can leaders who never get the basics done. Progress is not made if you skip over the critical parts.

Harris – and other leaders – provide many words of future hope for them/us without detailing how they will prioritise & take the priority pain points seriously.
Maybe many simply care more about job security, a home, rising costs, food & a beer at the end of the day than the rights & safety of others. At least until they have the security that allows them the space to think & discuss those things, and FFS, stop calling everyone stupid.

Most are just busy dealing with a lot and feeling overwhelmed.
Because we‘re *all* needed to fix the basics by voting in leaders capable of doing better, we better start thinking this through instead of ignoring the massive signals these elections have been sending us for many years now
If it's not too late.
Yes we can, retreat into our catchphrase-laden echo chambers, but that isn't going to turn the page on anything and seems more likely to ensure that We *are* going back.
