In case you're on the market for a new vacuum, several key Dyson patents have expired. Our Dyson died recently and we made a point of not putting more money in this jacka$$'s pockets. The Bissel we got was absolutely comparable.

You don't need to give $$ to this A$$.

UK’s richest man Dyson says ‘spiteful’ tax hikes will kill growth

The billionaire says Keir Starmer’s government’s first budget will lead to the ‘death of entrepreneurship’ and hurt small businesses.

@chu I'm not buying another Dyson ever. They frequently change battery form factors and you can't get new genuine batteries for older models after only a few years. Aftermarket batteries are crap and last for a year at best. Ended up throwing out a perfectly good vacuum and changed to a brand which has had the same battery form factor for over a decade.
@rainynight65 What brand if I may ask? We did get replacement battery for our model without hassle. Though the plastic is cracking apart in all places.

@mfriess I got a Bosch. It has the same batteries as a drill I've had for ten years prior, and across a range of cordless tools and appliances. Getting a replacement battery won't be an issue.

My Dyson was under 5 years old when I was no longer able to get a new battery from Dyson, only cheap aftermarkets which were crap.

@rainynight65 ty for the info. I will check Stiftung Warentest before my next – soon to come – purchase. Bosch – that would mean supporting local business. :-)
