As is the payment processor that Patreon uses to interact with your bank account. There are so many layers of intermediaries clipping the ticket.

I can totally sympathise with the CryptoBugs who want to make payments P2P. Problem is, DeFi is full of ticket-clipping grifters too.

@herhandsmyhands I already knew about this scum bucket. I am happy that they waste money by repeatedly sending me catalogs that I immediately chuck into the recycling bin. Not sure why they do this, I've never done business with them.
