The Mac mini is not a console by any stretch, but it is a more capable gaming PC than Apple’s maybe ever had at the lrice point.

And don’t underestimate the size of the PC gaming market. There are more people playing games on Steam right now than there are people in the world who own an Xbox Series S or X combined.

@matt Most of that is Windows, by the last Steam survey about 1.4% of Steam users are on Mac (~500k). The Mac hardware is more than capable, but is the game compatibility better than it was a few years ago?

@sam Yeah, sorry didn't mean to imply that more than a sliver of that Steam number was Mac users, just making the point that PC gaming is a bigger market than the tech press likes to give it credit for.

But yeah, availability is still a challenge. Most exciting new games don't release on the Mac (or like Cyberpunk, they release many years later), and more concerning is that when those games do come to the Mac, it seems like they vastly underperform.
