@emptywheel if this were the case, then we should start with CITIZEN Trump and his top-level followers. Not only have they attempted to mislead voters, but they have also committed MANY more election-related crimes and then bragged about it in public rallies. This should have given the DOJ more than enough reason to make problems for Trump, yet they give him free pass for everything.
