josefeveryone on the bus is listening to music and watching videos and listening to podcasts on their phones without headphones. but they’re all doing it quietly, so as not to annoy anyone. one guy holds two iphones up to his head, one for each ear, to get the best sound quality. I get out my old earphones and put them in. everyone looks at me. someone mouths at me, politely. What are those? Are you an alien? where do you get those. how do they even work? it looks dangerous

Alex Hall@jk I doubt this is much of an exaggeration. I don't understand the thing nowadays where no one believes in headphones or, you know, sitting quietly for a few minutes.
