american leftists are all about organising for collective action until comes the time to vote.
then it's a difficult personal choice.
because the candidate that is a bajillion times better than the fascist candidate isn't my platonic ideal of perfect.
individuals aren't responsible for the ravages of capitalism when they buy a thing.
but everyone who votes for the imperfect candidate is directly responsible for the bad things they do.
but everyone who votes for the perfect candidate and indirectly causes the fascist to win is not responsible for the outcome.
i'm not a hypocrite. i'm a principled leftist.
organising for electoral reform, or organising to influence the imperfect candidate to be better, that's too liberal and unsexy.
revolution or death.
(but i refuse to organise any change outside my personal actions and my toots on an irrelevant social media, so it's death.)
