This one is pretty good. Though, I think my last viewing left me feeling a bit like this was like an anthology segment expanded a bit longer than it was good for.

Jason Parker-Burlingham 🏳️🌈@onelson I always thought this would be a substantially better movie without the intro laying out what came before; I think there are enough clues in the rest of the movie.
@jasonp I think that's fair but I also think the conclusion was abrupt and not very satisfying. If we cut the beginning and the end, there's just this sort of pastiche in the middle ... enjoyable but not that substantive.
@onelson Hm, I'd have to rewatch the ending, but I think I agree that this might have needed a little something extra to fulfill its potential.
Honestly it's tough to out-do Ghostwatch at its own game.
@jasonp This is precisely where I'm at. Additionally, Ghostwatch is special to me because of the whole War of the Worlds effect it had for me when it originally aired "live" and I was what.. 11 or 12 years old? By the time it was over I wasn't convinced it was made up 🤣
@onelson oh wow. You got to see THAT live. I'm jealous, and also a little glad that I didn't.
@jasonp it was just baffling to me since all the people in it were "playing themselves" and they were all TV personalities I had grown up (so far) knowing from so many things with such frequency. I remember feeling relieved when I saw Sarah Greene in the days that followed on the afternoon kids TV block on BBC1.
@onelson Nice. Imagine if someone had had the nerve to broadcast [REC] "live" in Spain, where the main character was famous for hosting a show like her character. Now *that* would have created some controversy.
