#ThamesWater hopes to secure £3billion from creditors to keep it going until 2026
In return, Thames water wants to charge customers 53% more over the next 5 years
But #ofwat are saying 23% 🙄
A decision will be made this December

@Lazarou When the War-damaged railways were nationalised, in 1948, the government issued bonds to pay for the shares based on their price in November 1946
We should do the same for #ThamesWater now before it receives this extra 3 billion and its shares rally.
@Lazarou As part and parcel of Thatcher's 1989 Water Act, wherewith it was privatised, she decided, to make the flotation viable, that she would write off £7.6 bill of debts owed by the water and sewerage companies, providing a 'green dowry' which added £2.3 bill to various companies balance sheets, and a capital tax allowance of £12 bill to offset the fact that they had had no time to build up capital reserves
And it was our money!
So why do we have to pay twice to take it back
