With AI upscaling, image enhancement, auto cropping to 16:9, and frame interleaving?

We watched an episode of The Simpsons on Disney+ last night and the “upscaling” and cropping that had been applied made at least one family member queasy enough they had to leave the room.

I hope Dick Van Dyke is better!

"The Dick Van Dyke Show" on Prime looks great. They may have been remastered using film elements. It's not over-sharpened. It's presented in 4:3. Progressive frames.

On Disney+, there's a setting to play 4:3 episodes in 4:3 (without the silly upscaling).

Thanks for this tip about The Simpsons 4:3 setting. We haven’t sat down to watch TV for a couple of days but I’ll give it a try next time we do.
