Imagine someone set up a fediverse server at a domain like publicwatchdog.nz, to host AP feeds people could use to follow specific aspects of NZ government activity. What feeds would you want to create or follow?

Wow. I just blew my own mind. What I didn't think of when I was posting that, would be that creating these automated feeds (newswire bots?) would be an act of political #journalism. Like what Scoop does by publishing press releases. It creates a searchable index of information that's open source (in the original sense of the phrase).
In theory, anything that can be read online by a human can be read by a bot, and turned into an AP feed (and RSS feed, and Nostr feed, etc).
Also, why aren't we using WebTorrent to syndicate comments across the fediverse if the number of receivers goes above a threshold?
@strypey We're in the process of setting up a "NZ civil liberty news" database and RSS feed, adding Mastodon would also make sense.
Awhi Group has a feed of bill related news. Or maybe it's a weekly email.
