@amiserabilist But why do people keep posting plain text as images then add identical alt texts?
@chris @amiserabilist that's a great question, and if you find an answer to it, I'd love to know too. It's a waste of bandwidth and energy.
@jmrubillon @chris @amiserabilist I think it’s so that it stands out when scrolling past.

@chris

1. it is someone else's post.

2. otherwise other people mention there is no alt text.

@chris @amiserabilist on behalf of people who take this issue seriously I’d like to take a moment to thank you for derailing the conversation and making it about you.

@CatDragon @amiserabilist Get off your high horse.

If you'd really consider this you would have to view the issue at hand from all three persons perspective: The rapist, the mother and the child.

Consider pro's and con's for each individual. Then weigh their cons against each other.

@chris @CatDragon @amiserabilist Are you really saying we should consider the rapist's POV? Seriously??

@ariaflame @CatDragon @amiserabilist No, but the child, maybe?

Also any judgement without being impartial is not a judgement. This is exactly the way justice systems work. Even the most vile criminal gets defence in any legal system.

@chris @CatDragon @amiserabilist We're not talking about someone accused of rape, we're talking about someone guilty of rape. As for the child, should they be forced into being, how happy a life can you have when you are a constant reminder to your mother of shame and pain and hurt?
@ariaflame @CatDragon @amiserabilist Would you rather be shameful or dead?
@chris @CatDragon @amiserabilist Thanks for confirming you are not worth talking to.
@chris @ariaflame @CatDragon @amiserabilist As I have been saying for years: people who pose the faux dilemma of "would you be happy if your mother aborted you" are really just confessing both existential dread and contempt for their own mothers. Personally, I would be fine with nonexistence if the alternative is that my mom got raped and then forced to bear a child. I love my mom. And I wouldn't be dead, because in order to be dead one must first be alive. I would just not have ever existed. Which would be fine. My existence was not inevitable, and I can deal with that.

@ariaflame @[email protected] @CatDragon @amiserabilist

"The criminal and the imaginary being should definitely have as much say as the living breathing human who was just violated."

Seriously? The misogyny is strong with this one. :-/

@chris @CatDragon @amiserabilist There is no child. There is a fucking embryo that was implanted in a person against her will and can be easily removed.

@chris @CatDragon @amiserabilist Planning to sneak into your house tonight and remove one of your kidneys so it can be donated since you're so pro-life. I don't need your permission, right?

Consider the rights of the person who needs your kidney. Why should your right to keep it and not have it removed without your permission in the middle of the night trump their right to your kidney?

Fortunately if you consider the pros and cons, "not forcing the mother to bear the rapist's child" comes out with the most positive net weight. Obviously.
@chris @amiserabilist Pretty sure the option for site impaired can't read from images or thats my assumption

@amiserabilist

The #GOP is the pro-rapist party, so this tracks.

@amiserabilist
Put another way, a woman can't say no.
@CassandraVert @amiserabilist Some of the States I think even give the rapist visitation rights.
@ariaflame @amiserabilist
Yes, rapists have parental rights in some states.
@amiserabilist https://beige.party/@amiserabilist/113325930470062127 It is time for families/women/girls to stand up and make sure any rapist won't see their children grow up. It appears that the GOP is banking on that.
