Stop harboring assholes and start shouting down "reply guys". Make it clear to women that "Yes. You belong here" - not just with words but with actions. Take safety seriously. If you can't be kind to you fellow humans, then no amount of software will benefit the world, no matter its license.
@48kRAM I blocked "The Stallman Report" because (a) it was attributed to "anonymous editors", (b) allegations in some of the replies sounded like things that should have been reported to the police, so if they weren't contacted or did not find it credible, the obvious question is "why", and (c) the whole matter seemed to pop up out of nowhere.
Allegations should not be anonymous unless there is a credible reason to believe that there could be some non-trivial retaliation.
@bzdev No. Asking people who have been harmed to paint a target on their backs in order to voice their harms is not the way. This culture is too toxic for them to expect to be safe in their accusations. Anonymity MUST be an option.

@Nentuaby @48kRAM You missed the point, which was basically, given all the ridiculous allegations going around these days - like meteorologists controlling hurricanes - when I see something where the "editors" are "anonymous", why would I bother reading it? How would they be threatened? It's not like Trump being able to ban someone from his country club (assuming anyone even cared).
It is not about Richard Stallman. It is about a simple filter to avoid wasting my time.
@Nentuaby @48kRAM Nope. The people supposedly compiling those citations ( or whatever the hell was in that report) were supposedly anonymous. Why be anonymous if you are merely listing citations? You don't have to be a victim, real or imagined, to do that, and the original tute referred to "editors", not "victims".

Stallman has, at least from what I've seen, been the right amount of considerate and dismissive. He doesnt play into the games, but he seems to acknowledge the valid ethical concerns.
That said, its also possible he did something really shitty and I just missed it. So if there is a specific example of something shitty he did that warrants this sort of response I will happily review it and consider it to see if it changes my opinion (probably should have been part of this post to be honest).
But yea until someone actually provides some valid justification for this sort of reaction I hear this sort of stuff and I will just double down my support for stallman as a victim of a mob with pitchforks.
To be fair I am no dictator. I expressed my views of stallman, and it wasnt meant to represent QOTO's view. We create our rules as a community.
That said, I do think my opinion on stallman, specifically the whole "I need some evidence to judge someone" is fairly in line with the attitude we have here.
