This weekend, I had the opportunity to clear out the library of a gentleman who (unfortunately) passed away. He was editor of a large publishing house. Judging by the notes he left behind, he had read almost everything. We are talking about more than a thousand books. Almost every book also had a handwritten review inside. This note says "unreadable crap, can't stand to finish it". That was very helpful in deciding whether to keep it or not! 😀 #bookstodon #books

@SteveTux I selected them for my own library... but I'd be open to giving them to someone else who is interested. They are not mint (far from it), and most books have notes in it.

Its kind of you to offer though.

I don't mind notes in books. When I was younger, I *hated* that. But as I grow older and books changed from almost holy things to friends and portals to other world's, I started to make notes in them as well.
And when I bought a used one at a charity book fair it was so interesting to read and see annotations of another person.
Was like listening to annotations of a streaming medium. ;)

@SteveTux Same here. I used to keep everything in pristine condition, but now I found it more interesting to see my own notes or those from others. They are indeed like little portals into different worlds.

Re. Nietsche: DM me if you are seriously interested. I'm sure the books would appreciate a good new home.
