You don’t like gay marriage?
Don’t get gay married.
You don’t like gender-affirming care?
Don’t have any.
You don’t believe in abortion?
Don’t get one.

Your opinion/religion guides you, not all of us. It’s as simple as that.

@Strandjunker I think the argument is "these things don't affect anyone but the people directly involved" so everyone should be free to do what they please, right? However the third example is not quite the same as the first two. Is an embryo not just a tiny human such that we as a society should debate considering them in our laws as a "person directly involved"? Different areas of law treat embryos differently; in homicide cases for instance. Abortion is more nuanced than "don't get one."
@poleguy @Strandjunker Not even getting into the science vs “has a soul” nonsense, when the folks who want to disallow abortion are also against contraception and sex ed it amounts to a huge attack and denial of rights on anyone capable of childbearing. And somehow the answer and responsibility is always “Don’t have sex, whore,” rather than “Just get a vasectomy.”
@yamainu @Strandjunker I hear you. Many people just repeat talking points and ramble from one thing to another. Few on the religious side understand the mindset of those they are trying to argue with. Most don't listen.
