Video of 10/16/96 #phish Lake Placid has surfaced. Haven't revisited this show since I walked out of the venue thinking, "wow, that was awful" and questioning my fandom.

40 minutes in and confirming I was young, spoiled and couldn't get my preconceived expectations out of the way to enjoy some of the quick evolutions #phish made throughout the mid '90s.

Pretty good thus far

@heyscottyb the fall 96 black hoodie is an elite Trey outfit, IMO.

@heyscottyb Does anything stand out? Or is it just that the band sounds good? This show is a legendary clunker.

Commonly cited as “worst show I ever saw” by fans in attendance, this night set the tone for an underwhelming Fall 96 swing that still plagues that tour’s reputation to this day.

@heyscottyb I didn't hit this show but did hit Pittsburgh and Buffalo from a couple of days later and revisiting them is always interesting. The playing is actually good and there are absolutely some highlights. But there was very much something off about the shows and not at all in a I had bad neighbors way. There just seemed like a disconnect between them that I had never experienced in almost 60 shows. Because of that I don't have good memories of those shows. But the playing is good actually
