Battery life on Apple Watch Series 10 seems to have gotten worse not better with watchOS 11.0.1. Every morning I see it drop 25% or so within a couple of hours of waking. (I do not use it for sleep tracking and it’s on a charger all night). Charge it back up to 100% after the drop and some days it feels like expected some days not.

Could be an errant app or a lemon.

@WarnerCrocker Not sure which watch exactly he has but my partner was having similar problems. He turned off a lot of background processes and the smart charging where it doesn't charge all the way to 100%. That didn't help at first so he did a hard power cycle on the watch and his phone and now it's behaving normally. Not sure exactly which step actually is the fix!

It was crazy, he'd lose like 30% in the morning & end up getting a low battery alert by dinner.

@WarnerCrocker I have an ancient apple watch and haven't had any issues but I'm not on watchOS 11 with it. Mine might be too old to get updates anymore.
@WarnerCrocker My Apple Watch 8 is now in the red by 9pm, I put it on before 6am. So seems worse than before the WatchOS upgrade but the watch is also older, so I’m not sure. I use my Apple Watch 4 for sleep tracking.
@WarnerCrocker My Series 9 has been performing as expected; like you, I don’t sleep with it and charge it at night. Haven’t been paying particular attention, but haven’t gotten any low-battery warnings at all. 🤷‍♂️
@WarnerCrocker Battery life on my Series 10 has been very unpredictable. Some days, it’s great, and other days, it’s way shorter than expected. I’ve been telling myself it’s weirdness left over from the initial setup, but that seems less and less plausible as time goes on.
@devondundee Feels very much like what I’m experiencing. First two days after 11.0.1 it seemed to be expected behavior, but since then every morning and day is an adventure.
@WarnerCrocker My series 7, watchOS 11, isn't any different from usual. I've been up for 9.5 hours and I'm at 75% battery.
@WarnerCrocker My Ultra first gen only got marginally better after 11.00.01. Really hoping for improvements with the coming updates. I charge mine while I shower, then sleep with it. With 10.#, it would always be 90%-93% when I wake up. Since 11.0, it’s been 82%-85% when I wake up. After 11.00.01, it’s been ~87%. It also seems like workouts drain faster with 11.##.

@WarnerCrocker Did you try turning it off and on again? 😼

No, for real, I do a restart (or off/on for Watch) on my 3 devices after updating, and if I forget, I’ll usually notice some weirdness like battery drain.

@Sumocat I do the same. I’ve also noticed over the years that it can take 3 days or so for things to settle in. I typically reboot after about 4 days as well.
@WarnerCrocker my series 10 battery life seems better after the update, but I also turned off smart stack’s auto launch live activities (before the update), which also helped a bit
