Designed by Turkish artist Mehmet Ali Uysal, this giant clothespin sculpture that seems to be holding onto a mound of dirt and grass, resides on the outskirts of Liege, #Belgium.

I wonder how many people under 30yo would even recognize a clothespin? It would be fun to see a video of kids experiencing a clothespin for the first time and trying to guess what it was used for (similar videos expose kids to retro tech with predictably fun results). Given the diff in energy consumption it would be wonderful to bring air drying back… but no one under 30yo can afford a house with a yard, and wouldn’t want clothes that smelled of wildfire smoke.
