@adamhotep In many European countries, the mere production, possession or import of a recording device which hides in an everyday item is illegal and can give you many years of prison. When the police confiscates it, it has to immediately kill the recording functionality.

@adamhotep The laws are from the 60's, but they got a lot of recent attention with the discussion about Amazon Echo, smart TVs, cloud-based teddy bears etc.
