It's easy to forget how nuclear winter denial was a conservative principle in the 80s, on account of a movement composed of billionaire funded cranks attracting insane kooks who want global nuclear war to be winnable. I'm so old I've almost forgotten watching the talking heads bickering over it with Ted Koppel.
