I fucking hate defending this piece of shit, but what he’s saying isn’t “they worked overtime and I refused to pay them.”
He said: “I hated to give overtime. I hated it. I shouldn’t say this, but I’d get other people in. I wouldn’t pay.”
So he’s doing the scumbag, but legal, thing of “you’re about to hit overtime so don’t come in/continue working. Someone else will finish/cover your shift.”
