Please, keep telling me your vote doesn't matter. People are literally putting their life on the line for it.
@RickiTarr If your vote didn't matter, the domestic terrorists wouldn't be working so hard to keep you from doing it.
@RickiTarr this is exactly the environment republicans have worked so hard to create here in America. They are the domestic terrorists and This is their civil war. all this does is make me want to vote even more. Fuck These Fascist pigs
@Utah44 @RickiTarr Fuck all of them!!!! Vote Blue 💙🔵!!!!!!!
@RickiTarr Perfectly said Ricki! And for those that don’t think that their votes count: Yours alone may not. But millions like you count. So please vote… People are dying for this very right. Don’t squander this opportunity… And anyhow, as the old adage goes: “If you don’t vote, don’t complain.” We like to complain, as long we vote.

@rlstone4dems @RickiTarr Saying voting doesn't matter because your one vote doesn't make a difference is like saying a truckload of sand is weightless because a grain of sand weighs almost nothing.

Voting should be the basic lesson about the difference between individual & community mechanisms that everybody should learn as soon as they start school.

@RickiTarr It especially matters in downballot races. We had a statewide primary here last month that ended up getting decided by only 54 votes. We might not have had a Democrat on the ballot in the general if it weren't for those 54 people.
@RickiTarr Democracy IS UNDER ATTACK! Merely because they are is why you will vote for Anybody Else than the Republican!
@RickiTarr Trumps 'Army' of the sickest minds in America-No wonder he loves the uneducated, they're His People. As Dickens ghost described the 'Ignorance, and Poverty' Trump's people are all one, or both of these.
@RickiTarr well I mean that's true for the presidential election because of the stupid electoral college. I live in Tennessee and it really doesn't matter who I vote for in the presidential election. We need to abolish the electoral college.
@Jennifer @RickiTarr It may not on a technical level, but the popular vote carries legitimacy. Take solace that Donald Trump will never ever be elected by the majority of Americans. It does matter ultimately.
@NailClippings @RickiTarr it didn't make me feel any better in 2016. Our system is deeply undemocratic.

@RickiTarr I've had multiple conversations already with my grandma. I really don't want to contact the embassy and leave this country.

@RickiTarr Oregon. Mail in only. No lines no intimidation no poll workers no polling places to vandalize. Should be the whole country.

Easy peasy no harass squeezy.

@Crystal_Fish_Caves We got to do mail in during Covid and loved it
@RickiTarr In my congressional district in the San Jose, CA area, the primary originally ended in a tie for second place and a recount found only a five vote difference. California has a top-two system now for races other than the president and VP now, so two Democrats will face off in the fall for the seat in Congress; our current representative is retiring.
@RickiTarr
The US is a corrupt oligarchy masquerading as a democracy, but vote anyway.

@RickiTarr That is horrible. I think it is time to reform or abolish the outdated Electoral College. There should not be “swing states” where those voters have more weight in a Presidential election than voters in “safe states”. My blue vote in a deep red state definitely makes no difference with the “winner take all” assignment of Electoral College delegates. I have heard the argument that this system encourages the winner to have broad consensus. No, it does nothing of the sort.
@RickiTarr Truly bizarre that a swing state is even a thing, a presidential election should just be a nationwide ballot. You are not electing local reps.

@RickiTarr And even if it didn't matter on the federal level, there's still local elections and referendums. Those matter a ton.

Back in Indiana, local elections kicked out the group that was refusing any change and brought in the group that lured a data center into town that will add jobs.
