Have a bunch of one-time code generators in Google Authenticator and want to move them to the new Passwords app?

Google Authenticator has an export feature that’ll export 10 generators at a time to a QR code: 🍔 > Transfer accounts > Export > Next

To open that QR code in Apple Passwords on the same device, screenshot it, open it in Photos, and tap and hold on the QR code.

Passwords will then let you associate each of the generators you exported with a password you have saved.

@rmondello hmmm... this doesn't seem to work for me. I can get to "Add Verification Codes in Passwords" but choosing the option then takes me to iOS Settings, not the Passwords app. Any tips?
@michaelseager This is a known bug, sadly, that affects some folks who took very specific actions in the past. I think you can work around it by going into Settings, General, AutoFill & Passwords, and then manually setting the Passwords app as the verification codes app. If it already is, toggle it to something else and then back.
@rmondello thanks, this worked. I also toggled the setting to “Set up codes in” to Passwords. Thanks for your help!
