@VeroniqueB99 This story in this post sounds dubious. I was recently laid off in California so I know from experience that CA labor laws require 60 days notice, among other things.
@danherbert @VeroniqueB99 at least the French side I can co firm. It happened to me twice in the last year and a half. They're also forced to pay you a lay off package based on how long you've been on the company, IRRC, 1 salary per worked yar. Also any vacation days you didn't take, which by law is 25 working days or more. Both my contracts, based on union contracts, didn't have vacation time but working days (220), leaving around 40 working days of vacation per year.
