@VeroniqueB99 This story in this post sounds dubious. I was recently laid off in California so I know from experience that CA labor laws require 60 days notice, among other things.
@danherbert @VeroniqueB99 the WARN act? I think that's only for some employers, and only when there's more than 50 terminations in a month. There's a bunch of exceptions.
@depereo Yeah, there are exceptions but the story says it's a multinational fortune 500 company so I'm assuming a lot of those exceptions don't apply given the context. A lot of those exceptions also make it cheaper to just comply with the WARN act than fit layoffs into the narrow exceptions to avoid them.
