“Glowtime” was last week. Tomorrow is showtime.
(Almost a shame no one needs to camp out overnight anymore. The weather is perfect in Philadelphia.)
@gruber I thoroughly loved the campout experience and faithfully did it from 2003 (Panther) until around 2018 but with day-one delivery being so reliable now across dozens of channels, it honestly doesn't make logical sense anymore. The last 2 years, I was all alone until a minute or two before the doors opened.
@gruber Does anyone need a reason to camp on Walnut Street? I do it all the time!
@gruber reminds me of forever ago I worked at an Apple Store in Austin for an iPhone launch. Corporate sent both stores a ton of huge umbrellas/parasols to hand out to the crowds. But our store was an indoor mall! So at the end of the day my manager was like, do you want a free enormous umbrella? Take it home! ☂
@gruber I absolutely miss the twice yearly all night camp outs for the iPhone and iPad. It was a lot of fun and always met cool people.

@gruber I missed out on the iPhone lineup era, but I can't say I wish I could do it. FedEx will deliver some packages and I'll be able to start my review without changing out of pajamas.

I did try to be proactive for a historic Apple release and showed up in the early morning in Nashville for Apple Vision Pro and was greeted with a ghost town. Oh well.

@HilliTech @gruber Unless Apple is going to pay me (in Apple gift cards) for my time spent in the line, there’s no way I’m gonna line up to buy an Apple product! That’s just madness these days. 🤪
@HilliTech @gruber It was all about the energy and excitement of lining up together with other crazy people that made it fun 🤣
@gruber Its reminder of a time when innovation in technology was rapidly changing our lives, but also the camp outs were a reflection of a different #Apple community back in 1997 to 2008 period. Yes, the technology itself obsoleted camping out, but its also how dramatically different todays Apple user is from 2007. To go from near bankruptcy to now an institution is just amazing when you think about it.
@gruber I assume this is from one of the iPhone 16s review units. This is just such a great composition regardless.
@markgdavis Correct. iPhone 16 Pro, Stark B&W photographic style, 2× camera from the middle of Walnut Street.
