@historyofpunkrock I've read that she almost didn't submit the photo to them because she was unhappy with the soft focus.

@historyofpunkrock I believe Joe Strummer, asked if the photograph was staged, said absolutely not and complained about how deafeningly loud it was before pausing and noting that it did sound really cool, though.

@historyofpunkrock I met her in Belfast once. She said that she hadn't realized the shot was any good, that Simonon picked it out of a pile of rejects. Like musicians, photographers I guess don't always recognize their own best work.
