Boeing announced layoffs and a hiring freeze after 30K workers went on strike.

Boeing said the strike "jeopardizes" the company.

Maybe what "jeopardizes" Boeing is putting profits above safety, undercutting its union, and giving a $45M golden parachute to a failed CEO.

Hello?

@rbreich can you earn more by being fired quickly and collecting your contracted golden parachute than actually running the company?

Seems a head hunt must turn into a ‘fall guy’ hunt at some point

@Chancerubbage @rbreich If CEOs actually had to be personally responsible for profits and losses of companies, I think the story would be entirely different. Instead, they plain don't give a shit because it's a win-win for them. If company happens to run great, they have massive paycheck and bonuses and if they fuck it up and leave, they still get contractual sum anyway. For start, if they leave company at worse state than when they arrived, they should get nothing.

@rejzor @rbreich

It isn’t their fault that they couldn’t save it though.

Gil Amelio actually help save Apple in numerous ways, but ended up taking most all of the blame for the errors of previous CEOs

@rbreich that is management logics: after falling 30,000 feet without any harm, the tree on the ground caused some severe damage. No doubt, if the tree didn't distract the pilot, they would have competently steered towards a sage place. *SCNR*

@rbreich

Then let #boeing die, someone will buy the pieces & run it better.

@rbreich all of their CEOs starting with Stonecipher have been complete failures.
@rbreich having whistleblowers killed can’t be cheap either eh Boeing?
@rbreich @uc Also have they tried not being rubbish in all regards
@rbreich It's weird how they always throw all the responsibility and blame on workers. Workers are literally just operational assets just like machines. If you don't maintain machines in good condition, you'll have more flaws and defects. Workers are no different. Keep them paid well and with good work conditions and they will make less mistakes and defects in the products. And it's not because they are lazy, it's because they are understaffed and worry about their mortgage instead of work.
@rbreich Ironically, prioritizing quarterly profits only hurts those profits in the long run, 'cause nobody's going to buy a plane that might fall out of the sky because you were more concerned about cutting cost than building it right to begin with.
@rbreich And European Airbus is just a much better product!!!
@rbreich @MisterArix Boeing can’t hear you over the sound of capitalism. 😇
@mookie @rbreich Boeing will rearrange the deck chairs and call themselves “General Aircraft”, because they’re just following in the footsteps of General Electric and General Motors.
@rbreich it all fell apart the moment they decided to just make profit in stead of reliable airplanes. And now it’s the workers’ fault? How do these CEO-types get this delusional?
@rbreich if I could repost this a million times to make more people read it, I would.
@rbreich I hope the mishandled door plugs and rcs starliner thrusters go on strike as well.
Wait what do you mean they already have but Boeing executives don't listen?
Well maybe it's time that they do!
