@scott @Markasaurus What is a "single-stair" building? I got 4 paragraphs in and there is fuck-all about what this means. Is it a narrow building? There's clearly more than one stair in the building.
@wklj @scott there is one central stair in the building in the article. The section titled "Why are small residential buildings hard to build under the International Building Code?" explains it
@wklj @scott basically the code in the US says two exit stairs are required at 4 stories and up, unlike most other places that only require one up to a taller height
