CaptainHoers@itssugarmorning network effects be like that unfortunately - also that thing where the kind of people who live on Mastodon are like "it's not THAT difficult having to sign up for one of 183495 different federated servers that don't all talk to each other and use hashtags like it's 2009 and adhere to unwritten standards of behaviour and maintain morale while posting to an audience 5% the size of your twitter following or less. I really don't get why people don't just switch"

@captainhoers @itssugarmorning Because the exact reason this whole post was made - not enough people using it.
That is why i still have Twitter while also using Mastodon.
People want to be where everyone else is. Which makes it hard for alternatives to grow unless they provide something brand new.
For me i like diversity so more places everyone can find me the better but i would not expect everyone to follow on every platform at the same time, different fans on different places all make up a huge family in the end
