Boots of the Graceful Panther
Wondrous item, uncommon
These leather boots trimmed with black fur evoke the paws of a great wildcat, claws and all. While wearing them, you always land on your feet when you fall, and you can fall up to 30 feet without taking damage. If you fall further than 30 feet, reduce the distance fallen by 30 feet when determining fall damage.

(Apple bottom jeans not included. =P)

#Lore24 10/08/24 #Auvia

Autokhariot
Wondrous item, common
This chair on wheels is designed to accommodate those with injured, amputated, or otherwise disabled legs. While using it with at least one hand free, you have a walking speed of 30 feet if you are Medium size, or 25 if you are Small. An autokhariot may come with fitted upgrades, or have some built for it.

If you can walk unassisted, using an autokhariot may lower the disposition of other creatures who need them in their daily lives.

#Lore24 11/08/24 #Auvia

Seal of Independence
Wondrous item, uncommon
This seal features the holy symbol of Yolcana: a crossed hammer, chisel, and lightning bolt. When you press the seal to a tool you are proficient with, the seal melts into the tool and reappears as Yolcana's emblem. Thereafter, it can be used as a holy symbol. In addition, once per day, you can command the tool bearing the seal to make progress on crafting an item in your stead, automatically succeeding on any roll required.

#Lore24 12/08/24 #Auvia

Extrasensory Tattoo
Wondrous item (tattoo), uncommon (requires attunement)
This tattoo is bright in colour and often depicts symbols of clarity.
While the tattoo is on your skin, your senses are expanded:
• You can use a bonus action to detect the presence of other creatures within 30 feet of you through nonmagical material or barriers. You see them as indistinct shapes in the tattoo's colours.
• You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks.
• You can't be surprised.

#Lore24 13/08/24 #Auvia

Potion of Rapid Recovery
Potion, uncommon
Brewed with tempremint and the juice of feyrie pear, this vibrant green potion sparkles in low light.
You can drink this potion as a bonus action. When you do so and at the start of each of your next four turns (use a d4 to track this), you may expend one of your Hit Dice to roll it, add your Constitution modifier, and regain lost hit points equal to the result (no action required), just as you would during a short rest.

#Lore24 14/08/24 #Auvia

Gloves of the Tradesfolk
Wondrous item, rarity varies
These fingerless gloves feature carvings of all manner of tools worked into their leather backing, each masterfully tinted with different dyes. While wearing them, you gain a bonus to any checks you make with artisan's tools depending on the gloves' rarity:
• Uncommon: +1
• Rare: +2
• Very rare: +3

#Lore24 15/08/24 #Auvia

Cloak of Goblinkind
Wondrous item, uncommon (requires attunement)
This fine red, gold, and brown cloak is of goblin design. While wearing it, you have advantage on Charisma checks made to interact with goblinoids, and once on each of your turns when you deal damage to a creature at least one size larger than you, you may roll an additional d6 and add it to the total.

(More cloaks! Both in-game and IRL!)

#Lore24 16/08/24 #Auvia

Miner's Guide
Wondrous item, common
This small metal box contains a compass and features a crossed pickaxe and hammer on the lid. Normally the compass points north, but while underground, it doesn't. Instead, you can use your action to knock on the lid once to have it point north for 1 round, knock twice to point to the nearest ore deposit for 1 minute, or knock thrice to have it point to the nearest exit to the surface for 10 minutes.

#Lore24 17/08/24 #Auvia

Lantern of the Devout
Wondrous item, uncommon
This hooded lantern has seven stained-glass windows worked into its design, each depicting one of the Seven Gods. While the lantern is lit, you can expend 30 minutes of its remaining oil to cast Bless at 1st-level, without using a spell slot or material components, and targeting only creatures within the lantern's radius of bright light. Casting Bless this way doesn't require concentration.

#Lore24 18/08/24 #Auvia

Staff of Breaching
Staff, rare (requires attunement)
This unusually thick staff is capped at one end with an icon of a ram. It functions as a magical metal-banded staff that grants a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it.
The staff has 10 charges. You can use your action to touch the ram's head to a door, wall, or other obstruction and expend a number of charges depending on the material:

#Lore24 19/08/24 #Auvia
1/2

• Wood: 1 charge
• Stone: 2 charge
• Common metals: 4 charges
• Rare metals: 6 charges
• Magicked barriers: 10 charges
The touched obstruction violently and loudly explodes away from you as the staff breaches the material, creating a hole 5 feet in diameter and up to 5 feet deep. Magicked barriers, such as a Wall of Force, have this hole for 1 minute, after which they reassemble themselves.
The staff regains 1d6+1 charges whenever you finish a long rest.

Featherlight Armour
Armour (any except hide), uncommon
This set of armour is decorated with images of intricate feathers and stylised gusts of wind. It weighs 1 pound whether worn or carried, doesn't impose disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks, and has no Strength requirement to wear it while moving freely.

#Lore24 20/08/24 #Auvia

Cloak of Concealment
Wondrous item, uncommon (requires attunement)
This cloak has a magicked pocket on the inside just below the collar. As a bonus action, you can store an item in, or retrieve the item from, the cloak. When you store an item, the cloak changes its colour and patterning to subtly incorporate the item, or something similar to it, into its design.

Attempting to identify if a cloak of concealment has an item in it requires a DC15 Wisdom (Perception) check.

#Lore24 21/08/24 #Auvia

Potion of the True Self
Potion, uncommon
The sparkling contents of this vial shift in colour from vibrant blue to cherry-blossom pink, and back again. When you drink it during a long rest, you immediately fall into dreamless sleep for 8 hours; during this time, you can alter your physical form. You decide what you look like, including your race (adjusting your traits to match), sex, and gender.
After consuming a Potion of the True Self, more have no effect for 1 year.

#Lore24 22/08/24 #Auvia

(Trans rights are the rights of all peoples.)

#Lore24 #Auvia

Shield of Deflecting
Shield, uncommon
This shield is emblazoned with a sky-blue tessellating pattern. While wielding it, when a hostile character hits with an attack against you, a creature within 5 feet of you, or a ranged attack that passes through your space, you can use your reaction to attempt to deflect it with your shield. Make a melee attack roll with this shield: if your total beats that of the incoming attack, you slap it aside and it has no effect.

#Lore24 23/08/24 #Auvia

Modern Events of Auvia
Wondrous item, uncommon (requires attunement)
This small and thin book contains a wide variety of details about ongoing goings-on, people involved in recent events, and similar subjects. Somehow, it seems to stay relevant wherever you go.
While attuned to it, you have advantage on Intelligence or Charisma (Current Events) checks.

(Learning about local places and people often comes up as a thing players roll for, so why not make a skill for it? =D)

#Lore24 24/08/24 #Auvia

Pocket Hideout
Wondrous item, rarity varies
This replica of a wooden door, complete with a golden handle, is 3 inches tall and 1 inch wide. You can use your action to hold it against a solid surface, such as a wall, cliff face, or large tree, and speak its command word. When you do, it expands into a fully functional door, worked seamlessly into its surroundings. Opening the door reveals an extradimensional hideout, furnished in any style of your choice.

#Lore24 25/08/24 #Auvia
1/2

Closing the door to a pocket hideout from the inside causes it to become camouflaged on the outside. You can retrieve the door as an action by speaking its command word while the hideout has no creatures inside it. When you do, it shrinks back down to its replica size.

Rarer pocket hideouts feature additional benefits such as granting finer control over the hideout's layout, responding to commands while you are inside, and the ability to alter its atmosphere.

#Lore24 25/08/24 #Auvia

Longsight Lenses
Wondrous item, common (requires attunement)
The lenses in this pair of glasses are designed to aid in perceiving objects and people at a distance. While wearing the glasses, the normal range of your ranged and thrown weapons and spell attacks increases by 10 feet, but you have disadvantage on attack rolls against creatures within 5 feet of you, as the glasses distort your vision up close.

("Wow, how do you see?" "Badly.")

#Lore24 26/08/24 #Auvia

Ring of Harmony
Wondrous item, uncommon (requires attunement)
These plain gold rings are always found (or made) in pairs or groups, each magickally linked to one another. When worn, you hardly notice it's there.
While wearing this ring, you are immune to being charmed. In addition, you gain a +1 bonus on ability checks and saving throws if another creature wearing a Ring of Harmony linked to yours is within 30 feet of you.

#Lore24 27/08/24 #Auvia

Trusty Weapon
Weapon (any), rarity varies
The keen edge, sharpened point, or sheer impact force of this weapon ensures that even glancing blows hurt. When you make an attack with a trusty weapon and miss, the target takes damage equal to half the attack's ability score modifier, rounded down, plus a value based on the weapon's rarity:
• Common: 1
• Uncommon: 2
• Rare: 3
• Very Rare: 4
Some magical weapons may count as trusty weapons in addition to their other traits.

#Lore24 28/08/24 #Auvia

Choker of the Spoken Word
Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement)
This black silk choker features a silver clasp engraved with a tiny smiling mouth. It has 6 charges, and regains 1d6+1 expended charges when you finish a long rest. When you cast a spell while wearing the choker, you can expend a charge to ignore the somatic components of that spell and replace its verbal component with ordinary speech, instead of resonant - and frankly, intimidating - words of power.

#Lore24 29/08/24 #Auvia

Sting of the Winter Court
Weapon (any ranged weapon or weapon with the thrown property), uncommon (requires attunement)
The metal used in this weapon is tinted dark, and it always feels cold to the touch. When you hit with an attack with this weapon while hidden, choose one of the following effects:
• Your attack deals an extra 1d4 cold damage.
• Your target must make a Wisdom (Perception) check contested by your Dexterity (Stealth) check. If you win, you remain hidden.

#Lore24 30/08/24 #Auvia

The Forefront Blade
Weapon (any slashing weapon), Magicked Legacy (requires attunement)
This weapon bears a symbol of a sword cleaving a shield in twain. You can only attune to it if you have intervened to take a blow that would have felled one of your allies.
When you first acquire the Forefront Blade, it is a +1 weapon of its type, but otherwise appears mundane.

The power of this Magicked Legacy will grow alongside your legend, reputation, and status as an adventurer.

#Lore24 31/08/24 #Auvia

Time to delve into details of people all across #Auvia: adventurers, organisations, and more besides.

On occasion, a town or city may host guests from the Lyrosaris, a rather enigmatic order headquartered deep in the Wild Untamed. These strangers, surprisingly well-informed, offer trades in knowledge to any who are willing to learn and grow - but they always deal in fair trades for all involved.

A Lyrosaris may also recruit adventuring parties to aid them, if only for a time.

#Lore24 01/09/24

Rienna the Wolf Who Walks By Herself is a wood-elven Lyrosaris. She collects details about the wildlands of #Auvia and trades mainly with the Khavan people. In exchange for the warning that a pack of veyahns was on approach to a Khavan camp, she learned the basics of druidic magicks from the camp's ranger.

Rienna despises slavers, but uses their greed to her advantage. She trades with them only to double-cross them later: her dire wolf form shows them how she got her title.

#Lore24 02/09/24

Valora is a tiefling born and raised in Espre. Xer family regularly travelled between Espren cities for work, and xe quickly took to life on the road, never really settling down anywhere for extended periods.

When xe's in town, Valora is an excellent source of gossip about the local happenings. Xe can usually be found in a local plaza, cart and all: xe sets up a portable kitchen operating out of the cart, selling fresh-cooked meals to all and sundry at fair prices.

#Lore24 03/09/24 #Auvia

Despite international relations across #Auvia, branches of the faith in the Seven Gods maintain chapters, temples, and meeting halls in every nation. The Order of the Empty Sheath is one such group, devoted to resolving conflicts with as little violence as possible. Its members are often identified by the scabbard they wear on one hip without a sword to match it.

Prominent members of the order might be clerics of the Peace domain, or paladins who swear the Oath of Redemption.

#Lore24 04/09/24

Kurupaera is a wandering sprite who came to #Auvia from the Summer Court to "take in the sights, go where the sun guides me, and weigh the hearts of mortals". He is unusual for a fey of the Summer Court in that he is especially curious about the ways of men, and will freely offer to make pacts with them outside of the authority of his Court.

Though he may be small of stature, Kurupaera is no stranger to combat, as more than a few have tried to capture him for study or ransom.

#Lore24 05/09/24

Ata-Dari is perhaps better known for her adventuring nickname of Dragonfist, earned after punching a dragonling out of the air. Her long career as an adept has led many to petition her for training. However, this battle-seasoned orclin has a keen eye for lack of discipline.

Dragonfist has no time for people who think they know it all. She prefers to work with inexperienced youths, helping to shape them into who they wish to be - just as she reshaped herself.

#Lore24 06/09/24 #Auvia

The name Black Cat is known in all corners of every nation. To some, they are a notorious criminal to be captured on sight. To others, they are a hero sticking it to those who deserve it. And to many, they are the stuff of faerie tales. Everyone has a story to tell, from emptying a Rhizeli vault without opening the door, to ransacking three Iohnite ports in one night, to outbargaining a fiend of Zhel. Nobody knows their true identity, and that lends more to their infamy.

#Lore24 07/09/24 #Auvia

Every Aeskellian ship worth her salt has a dedicated chanter among the crew. Brand the Belter is no exception. A lander from one of the snowbound isles, he earned his nickname quickly after singing loud enough for neighbouring ships in the fleet to hear.

When ashore, he can usually be found in any of the myriad taverns, singing traditional tunes such as the Saga of Captain Tief, The Bosun's Daughter, Lost Marauders, and a regular favourite, The Whalerman.

#Lore24 08/09/24 #Auvia

Xaralith aur Ferrox is the head of the Thaun family Ferrox, and one of the many elected representatives in the nation's Conclave. Re-elected thrice to his position, he has reliably shown that he is a charismatic individual with the wherewithal to make good on his promises - unlike some, who enjoy the benefits and prestige of being a Conclave representative for their own sake and couldn't give a whit about much else.

#Lore24 09/09/24 #Auvia

Ioh-Né's magickal research divisions are frustrated by many things. The exact details of what makes a warlock pact are one of them. The voidblade Callista is one such warlock, sworn to serve her nation and her patron both. She was saved from bandits by the Blademaster's intervention, and entered into a pact to repay her debt.

The Blademaster has yet to impart to Callista more than they care to. Though she isn't worried. She understands them. Or she thinks she does.

#Lore24 10/09/24 #Auvia

Khava has no dedicated temples to the Seven Gods, but they still revere Them as any other nation. The goblin Oduna the Reader is the head priest of the Echoed Cry clan. As such, he is looked to as a counsellor, confidant, and messenger between mankind and the gods.

Oduna takes his work seriously. Though he pays homage to all the Seven, he is a servant of Losastra first and foremost, guiding the clan on their nomadic path through fates divined from the stars in the sky.

#Lore24 11/09/24 #Auvia

As a region of #Auvia where mining efforts have yielded little metal of use, Zesh-Mura has very few dedicated mining operations. However, this makes the nation's Metalworkers' Union all the more prestigious a company to join. Works made primarily of metal are reserved for special occasions, commemorative works, and tributes to the nation's heroes. For all else that others make from metal that they take for granted, Zesh-Murans turn to the more populous Stoneworkers' Union.

#Lore24 12/09/24

The town of Forgeheart is situated on the edge of the Wild Untamed, near the Thaun border. It got its name from the forging and smithing company that makes its home there.

The leadership of the company is composed of a mixture of miners, smiths, armourers, leatherworkers, and tailors, each with unique specialties and clients. It's an 'open secret' of sorts that they're all romantically involved with at least one other among them, hence their nickname: the Polyarmoury.
