HELL YES!!

#TaylorSwift endorses Kamala #Harris on Instagram.

@GottaLaff Welcome news, but I’m always sceptical when candidates get the celebrities in. This is unlikely to swing many ordinary voters in places like Pennsylvania or Wisconsin
@NigelNotNeil @GottaLaff It's not primarily meant to swing voters. It helps to drive Dem leaning and independents to register and actually go vote Harris. It also increases enthusiasm across the base, even with non-swifties.

It also could lower enthusiasm for some swifties that were voting trump. Maybe they wont show up.

@FortunateFool @GottaLaff @NigelNotNeil I think this is an extremely important point. The left is overly concerned about direct proximate results of every little thing.

My gut feeling (I am not a political consultant) is that we already see an enormous enthusiasm gap. How much Trump shit do you see this year vs 2020 or 2016? Everything that demoralizes MAGA reduces enthusiasm for ground game and showing up on election day. Things don't have to be bombshells. Thousands of paper cuts will do.

@geniodiabolico @GottaLaff @NigelNotNeil just like prominent Republicans coming out and endorsing Harris. It doesn't necessarily mean a ton of Republican voters will switch to Harris but they may decide to sit it out.

@FortunateFool @GottaLaff @NigelNotNeil If you convince someone to move from not voting to voting for you, that's +1 vote. If you convince your opponent's supporter to not vote, that's +1 vote. If you convince the supporter to vote for you, that's +2 votes.

I can't count the number of time I've seen people lamenting that +1 swings are not +2 swings. Gains are gains, my friends. A free-throw is not a three-pointer but it is madness to treat it like it sucks your points off the board.

@FortunateFool @GottaLaff @NigelNotNeil And re the enthusiasm gap, if you suck enthusiasm out of your side because positive gains are not big enough for you, that's an unforced self-own.

It's 7 weeks people, you can stay positive for that long. I learned this the hard way with my tepid barely-existent support of Hillary Clinton. I subtracted enthusiasm from my side and I regret it. If you can't do full-throated support, saying nothing is always an option.
