I added a ratgdo to my garage door, and I don’t know why I waited so long

@arstechnica You have to look at actual email? I'd just want it to show up on a home screen as a little green or red garage icon. #lazy
@arstechnica I really need to install this, #chamberlain can go to HE🏑🏑 and I can’t wait to get back to using #homeassistant to control my garage door again.
@Wtangofoxtrot @arstechnica I ditched my MyQ controller when they locked it down and blocked Home Assistant. I went with a Meross one which works locally over HomeKit (and thus with Home Assistant) and haven't looked back. However you go about it, it's well worth it!
@arstechnica I have one installed and working perfectly! No longer sounds and alarms when I open it for my walks and runs…
@arstechnica it seems that it sits inline with the physical wires for push button control, so installing this should not affect my ability to use MyQ too, right? (My car uses MyQ and I can’t figure out a good way to detect that I’m arriving home)
@arstechnica I have one of these and it’s been shockingly reliable. I’m also running the HomeKit firmware although I’d say that it’s pushing the limits of the chipset. I’m curious to see if they ever upgrade to an ESP32.
