it always irks me a bit when people say that some ui is the best ui, or that some things will never be used a lot because the ui doesn't fit their subjective tastes

everyone has their own tastes in what they want their ui to be like, and they're all valid

it would be better to have common standards and a culture of software freedom so everyone can have the interfaces that fit best with them

all software should be free so we can all make it work the way we want it to, no developers or corporations should be able to take that away from us

As someone who likes making UI's myself I absolutely agree with this :3
Not all UI's are the same, and that's okay - not only do different places fit different designs better, but everyone should have the freedom to design the way they like - after all, that's what design is: the freedom to create (what one creates is dependent on what they're designing ofc)
