Not replying to any specific article or post and comments, but writing this mainly for myself. All objections to it have been covered in those articles and comments. I just don't happen to fully agree with them.

I *love* "The Hero's Journey" by Joseph Campbell and so many stories and movies made from that basic outline. It's a malleable one at that and can be "imprinted" onto a story after the fact.

But I also recognize that it's only **one** outline out of many paths to take.
