This week, Donald Trump announced he has made a deal with Elon Musk, that if Trump gets elected, Musk will become head of a government efficiency task force.

You read that right — the guy who believed you could kill coronavirus by injecting bleach, is hiring the guy who though firing 80 percent of Twitter's work force would work out just fine, to be tasked with firing federal employees.

It really is Kamala or Chaos.

In 1935, fascism was on the rise in Europe. The Danish Social Democrats campaigned for their leader under the motto "Stauning - or Chaos" and won.

The poster has been endlessly lampooned since. Maybe it could be adapted for Harris?

@PetraPanda @randahl I'm thinking "rebels" aren't going to "rise up" if Trump loses, particularly if blue dots in red spaces gently wear their colors out loud.

What we need to be doing is bolstering the confidence of those blue dots in swing states.

@randahl The year is 2025 and Elon Musk has renamed it the X force. Their main goals are to Push human efficiency to its limits and convince people to work for less, Anyone found to have sub par efficiency will be sent to work at the Tesla Factory. By the ay, having negative thoughts about Elon is not very efficient.

@randahl To be fair, Xitter still "runs." So firing 80% didn't stop the machine from turning. It did move Trust and Safety to a Crowdsource, but that's about all that has changed.

Not liking the asshole at the helm (I'm with you) and not liking the politics of the site (again, with you), is one thing. But if we attack him, we have to attack him right. Because the very narrative on the right is: "Xitter runs just like it did before, only on 20% of the staff."

That Elon works them to death, that there are 12 hour work days (ok, cry more Gen X, I earn less as a physician and I don't cry as much), that the leadership fucked up so bad with advertisers, they can't even get moderate conservatives to pay up anymore... that's the narrative.

But in terms of "Elon fires 80% of the civic servant chaff, and it'll still work," they have their talking points sorted. Especially, since that's a Clinton talking point that's just being reused.
