I keep seeing people reflect negatively that #cursive is no longer taught in schools. As someone who uses a #FountainPen and writes exclusively in cursive, I want to say: cursive is a tool. It trades speed for the legibility of print, and is easier to read large blocks of than short-hand.

Unless you need to write a large amount by hand in a short period of time, it is simply not the right tool. I love writing, but in all honesty it's a hobby: anything I *need* to do is typed.

@TashTaylor my only concern is that the students of today will have difficulty understanding original paper documents for themselves, which include some big ones for human history and culture. I often find that the archival documents I need are in cursive for the reasons you note. If it means more time for art and recess though I personally see the value.
@Lyle @TashTaylor this is probably the take that I find the most aplealong, of course transcriptions will always exist, but that still doesn't supplement reading the original document fully.
