Council elections are coming up. In the past term of Council, we’ve seen divisive and misinformed campaigns against much needed infrastructure. Councillors have stalled on implementing the Integrated Transport Strategy. The October election is a great chance to vote for positive change.
To inform our community, the BUG is:
*asking candidates to fill in a survey on their active transport record and intentions
*rating the candidates, and publishing these
*joining Streets People Love, a statewide coalition of active transport groups (including Bicycle Network, PECAN, Streets Alive Glen Eira and many more)
*talking to candidates-- we've already met with most of the Labor candidates, most of the Greens candidates, and some Independent candidates. (continued...)
