On second thought I strayed a little too close to the sun

Ran some tests with the kid this morning, a brim works perfectly, but makes the peace incredibly difficult to clean up, a single layer raft failed horribly, I’m trying two three and four layers now.

Someone suggested just to lower the speed and I’m kicking myself for not remembering that.

We ran a few tests and for this part it seems a raft of at least 2 layers works best.

They're all great - also not too much material

Second photo is a brim experiment, it also printed great but they have these sharp corners now which are rough to get off. And since I have a lot of them this is a no go.

Next up a run of 10 pieces with a raft of 3 layers. Two should work but I'm here for success not economy.. also I'll waste a lot more with failed prints.

The raft isn't big enough to grab on the curved parts of the part so maybe it shouldn't matter? I certainly felt the difference when removing them from the plate. idk why though. But this is why we experiment!

Lol I still haven't played with speed.

@reconbot Interesting. I didn’t need a brim or raft to get them to stick on the MK4. I used the textured build plate and PETG.

@teotwaki He wanted Grey which I only have in pla and the smooth plate. Did you slow it down or anything?

And I've done the normal skeleton without issues in both materials, but it's 60 pieces for the tentacles 😂

@reconbot No, didn’t slow it down, just regular IS structural profile. I do have an enclosure, and a modified hot end (improved part cooling duct, fan shroud and exhaust deflector). Some of those have enabled massive improvements to PLA not warping.
