Masses Attack Massive Attack - Ethical Revolution

[Read on Ethical Revolution] On Sunday 25th August Massive Attack played their first live Bristol show in 5 years in an event marking 25 years of climate activism by the band, which promised to be the lowest carbon show of its size ever staged. It was set up as a first physical fruition of their ... ... Read on ...

Blow them both up and kiss under a tree.

Oh, that's right - the trees were all cut down to build pipelines and wind turbines.

Do you have a better solution for power generation?

@ethicalrev

My idea is to first slash our energy use to the bare minimum needed for survival.
That would bring down our C02 levels faster and more efficiently than any other action (as the 2020 lockdown showed us).

Start from there and add on other sources of energy use as to their importance and necessity.
This alone will wipe out wasteful energy users like Fast Fashion, global shipping, flying, advertising, crypto, LLMs and AI, and businesses whose products and/or services are unnecessary junk, plus others.

From there we can decide the most efficient and least harmful energy generators.

I'm for solar and wind generation as long as it's on site vs solar/wind farms shipping it miles and miles away.
Fossil fuels - nope.
Nuclear - nope.
Hydrogen - a pipe dream that is always "25 years away!", so that's a nope, too.

If we eliminate wasted energy usage and users, we will need a lot less energy generation to begin with.

I agree. We learned so much from the pandemic and then very quickly forgot it all and went back to business as usual. Whilst I agree I just can't see reduced energy use really happening. We continually and seemingly exponentially increase our energy use all the time. Look at all the AI bullshit. More and more energy for something that is as intelligent as the dumbest person in the room.

At some point, the question will be asked; as a species, do we even deserve to be here?
