Francisco TolmaskyWhy has homework amount gone up over time? Don’t both teachers and students dislike it? Students for obvious reasons, and teachers since it creates more grading for them? Are there external incentives (quotas or something?). Studies don’t even support that homework is all that useful, right? I haven’t gone to school in 20 years, so perhaps my perception is off too, has homework continued to increase since then?
Yankovic123@tolmasky 25 year high school math teacher here. At least where I work, it’s gone down. It’s also become a much smaller percentage of their overall grade. Beware confirmation bias. We’re not even allowed to collect HW on Mondays (or assess on Mondays). YMMV.
